“I highly recommend the dual studies cooperative program with Klingelnberg. It’s a great opportunity for young people and provides amazing career prospects.” Mandy Pitscher.
In 2012, Mandy Pitscher applied to the dual studies program and was awarded one of the highly coveted spots at the family-run business. After earning her Abitur (secondary school diploma), Pitscher began a work-study program consisting of vocational training as a mechatronics engineer and a degree program in mechatronics. She was destined for a profession in a technical field – something that was evident from a very early age. Even as a young girl, she had a passion for repairing mopeds, which she did with the help of her big brother. When considering her training options, she ultimately decided to pursue the dual studies program, not only because of her roots in the Oberbergisches Land region but also because it was a top-rate challenge.
The first two years in the dual studies program involved three days of vocational training per week and two days of classes at Bochum University of Applied Sciences. Upon completing her vocational training in 2014, she switched to full-time study. At the same time, Pitscher began an internship, working on the “Precision Measuring Centers” product line in addition to pursuing her degree. In February 2017, she successfully completed her studies with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics. She also spent a semester abroad while a student, gaining valuable international experience during her six months at the U.S. subsidiary, Klingelnberg America, Inc. And she continues to climb the corporate ladder: having completed her Bachelor’s degree, she now has the Master's degree well within her grasp!
